Bosch Limited has made a foray into thermo technology and launched Bosch Thermotechnik (TT), a division which will commence operations with the manufacture of solar flag plate collectors at a new unit in Bangalore.
The company which provides goods and services in automotive, industrial and building technologies has invested nearly €1.5 million to set up the Bangalore unit, said Vidyasagar Halangali, Head of Sales, Bosch Thermo-Technology, SAARC region.
Halangali said that despatches of the first products will begin later this month. “We are targeting the builder segment for the solar flag plates,” he said adding that the company will also configure engineering systems customised for the hot water requirements of individual apartment owners in high rises.
By establishing a dealer network and key account management with large builders, on the solar front Bosch TT expects to do a turnover of Rs 21 crore during this year. Halangali estimates sales of boilers will touch Rs 50 crore in the same period.
