FMCG company CavinKare Pvt Ltd has called for participation in the third Chinnikrishnan Innovation Awards to be held September in Chennai.

This CSR initiative has been instituted in the memory of late R. Chinnikrishnan, the man who pioneered the sachet revolution in India, to “facilitate aspiring small and tiny entrepreneurs with essential needs,” said a press release.  

Entrepreneurs running small/tiny-scale enterprises, headquartered in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, with an annual turnover not more than Rs five crore, are eligible to apply.

Entries will be screened and finalists will be declared by a jury comprising experts from various fields.

The awardees will be assisted with patent legalities and potential tie-ups with banks and venture capitalists.

They will also have access to marketing advisory services, said the release.

C.K. Ranganathan, Chairman and Managing Director, CavinKare, said; “This initiative has been started with the aim of providing the needed infrastructure to deserving entrepreneurs.”

Last year, there were 118 applications. Mohammed Ibrahim of Brainz Infotech, which manufactures coin-operated water vending machines; R. K. Saran Raj of Japeva Engineering, which manufactures eco-friendly mineral roofing with weather insulation and water proofing properties; and Rangarajan Nadhamuni of Sriram Agro Processing Unit, which converts mango waste into mango butter were the winners.
