City-based Claris Lifesciences Ltd has reported consolidated net profit of Rs 15 crore for the second quarter ended June 2014 on consolidated net revenues of Rs 151 crore. Duringn the corresponding quarter of previous year, the company had posted consolidated net profit of Rs 18 crore on net revenues of Rs 202 crore.
The results are not comparable due to the transfer of the infusion business in India and emerging markets to the joint venture in August 2013, the company said in a statement here. Claris follows calendar year for financial reporting.
For the half-year ended June 2014, company’s consolidated net profit stood at Rs 29 crore against Rs 34 crore in the previous year. Net revenues for the period stood at Rs 281 crore against Rs 384 crore in the corresponding period previous year.
The Speciality Injectable business has seen an increase of 30 per cent over first half of calendar year, mainly on the back of increased sales traction from countries such as the US, UK, Philippines, Brazil and Venezuela, the company said.
