Mysore-based incense stick maker Cycle Pure Agarbathies will be increasing its focus on Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
"At present, we have a 20 per cent market share in these two States. We aim to take this to 40 per cent," its Managing Director Arjun Ranga told newspersons here on Friday. At the national level too, it plans to expand its distribution over the next two to three years. "We are present in nine lakh retail out lets and we want to double this number,’’ he said.
The company, which makes nearly 150 variants of incense sticks, has also roped in actor Amitabh Bachchan as its brand ambassador.
The Indian incense market is valued at over Rs 2,000 crore and is marked by the large number of players in the unorganised market. About Rs 400 crore worth incense sticks are also being exported to many counties, Ranga added.
