In order to garner more sales and widen its reach in rural areas, Dabur India Ltd has identified 30 villagers in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to be Immunity Ambassadors for its ayurvedic product Chyawanprash.
After over 135 days of campaigning under the Dabur Chyawanprash Swasthya Chetna Abhiyan, these individuals were selected to act as the company's ambassadors, along with Bhojpuri super star Ravi Kishen.
They will spread awareness about building stronger immunity to fight the rising incidence of flu, viral attacks and infections in their respective villages and districts, according to a company release.
The programme is an extension of Dabur Chyawanprash's national initiative Immune India, started in 2009, in which 10 lakh-plus students were educated about the need for immunity in 1,000 schools across the country.
Swasthya Chetna Abhiyan covered six districts of Bihar — Purba Champaran, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Samasthipur, Bhojpur Patna and two districts of Uttar Pradesh — Gorakhpur and Varanasi.
“A recent national survey pointed out that 85 per cent doctors feel that building stronger immunity is the best possible preventive measure against virus attacks. Considering this, Dabur Chyawanprash — the country's natural choice for building immunity — has taken up the responsibility to educate the rural population across the country on building stronger immunity to fight such ailments,” said Mr Suneet Yadav, Brand Head, Dabur Chywanprash, Dabur India Ltd.
Under the campaign, volunteers from the company conducted free health check-up camps, and provided free health consultancy to 114 villagers on an average everyday. Dabur India Ltd's consolidated turnover exceeds Rs 3,400 crore.
