Daikin Air-conditioning India has launched air-conditioners using ‘next generation’ refrigerant HFC32 being manufactured at its Neemrana plant in Rajasthan. The company said it considered HFC32 suitable for split air-conditioners and heat pumps and was an alternative to replace R410A in terms of performance. The company aims to expand use of HFC32 for commercial air-conditioning equipment.

Kanwal Jeet Jawa, Managing Director, Daikin Airconditioning India, said, “We are aware that rampant usage of refrigerants had so far contributed to increased sea level, extreme weather patterns causing destruction of crops and property, massive flooding followed by draughts, etc., so HFC32 is the only solution to protect our future.”

The 100 per cent subsidiary of Japan-based Daikin Industries plans to increase its dealership network to 2,000 from 1,000-plus at present and develop 100 new Daikin Exclusive Solution Plazas across the country in the coming months.
