German truck manufacturer Daimler has rolled out the 5000th truck from its manufacturing facility at Oragadam near here.
Beginning the production of “BharatBenz” range of trucks last year, Daimler India Commercial Vehicle, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Daimler AG, launched its range of light, medium and heavy duty trucks in the domestic market.
Early this year, the company also launched the FUSO trucks under its partnership with Japan-based Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation.
“Currently, Daimler India produces 2523, 3123, 914, 1,214, 1,217 heavy, medium, light duty, rigid and tipper trucks from the 400 acre plant situated at Oragadam near Chennai...DICV is stabilising its production line of all its launched models”, the release said.
