Dish TV reported a net loss of Rs 48.56 crore in the second quarter ended September 30. The net loss widened by 7.5 per cent against last year's Rs 45.17 crore. The second-quarter results were impacted by foreign exchange loss of Rs 30.4 crore.
The direct-to-home player reported an increase of 47.8 per cent in its revenues at Rs 482.27 crore against Rs 326.15 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, according to a company release.
The company closed the quarter with an incremental 5.75 million new subscribers and a higher average revenue per user of Rs 152.
Subscription revenues rose by 53 per cent at Rs 412 crore, according to the release.
“Despite being fairly insulated, DTH as a category was impacted by consumer inertia to pay for discretionary spends,” said Mr Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Dish TV India Ltd.
The company's scrip closed on the BSE at Rs 77.35, up 0.72 per cent, on Wednesday.
