Essar Power, a subsidiary of the London-listed Essar Energy plc, has appointed Sumant Nayak as its General Counsel.
“In his new role, Nayak will report to K.V.B. Reddy, Director, Essar Power,” the company said in a statement.
Prior to this, Nayak has served as Chief Legal Officer & Vice-President of GMR Group. He has over 24 years of experience in handling legal affairs, regulatory functions and corporate secretarial functions.
Essar Power has an installed generation capacity of 3,910 MW, which will rise to 6,700 MW by March 2014.
