Eveready Industries Limited has launched wide range of emergency rechargeable portable products and solutions here targeting the power-starved States in the South.
The nine products introduced in Hyderabad today are priced in the range of Rs 1,250 to Rs 2,500. These include LED emergency tube lamps powered by Lithium Ion batteries, table lights that double up as emergency lamps and a fan-cum-light.
These products can be used in urban and rural areas at homes, and public places like hotels, hospitals and offices. Some have automatic switch on and off feature.
A product with 40 LEDs on a full 16-hour charge provides for about 14 hours of lighting, Partha Biswas, Vice President, Sales, Eveready, said.
Addressing a press conference here along with R. Sriram, Senior General Manager, Lighting Products Division, Biswas said that while the rechargeable fans provide air up to 2.5 hours, the lamps provide bright, white light of up to 20 hours with minimum charging time.
Biswas said in a country where around 40 per cent households do not have access to enough electricity, these products address requirements of people starved of power.
They can also be ideally deployed in hostels for students and at homes for students taking examinations without lighting due to power cuts.
