French luxury furniture brand Roche Bobois marked its entry into Bengaluru with the opening of an exclusive 7,500 sq ft store in the city’s business district. Set up at ₹5 crore, it is the brand’s second store in the country, after Mumbai, where the first store was inaugurated in March 2014.
“Roche Bobois is an avant garde, futuristic, luxury furniture brand. We are showcasing two collections – Contemporary and Classic, that reflect the brand’s fine European craftsmanship and will release two new collections in April and October every year,” Samvit Tara, Managing Director, Roche Bobois India, told BusinessLine .
Besides furniture for homes and offices, the store also offers lighting, accessories and carpets. Customisation is available in any detail, choice of dimensions, colours, leathers, woods and finishes.
The brand is targetted at HNIs, the Builder/Developer community, film stars and celebrities. Asked about the revenue growth for the brand, Tara said, “While the initial plan was to open one store a year in the country, our third store is due to open in Mumbai in 20 days and by June 2016 we will open a store each in Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune and Chennai. Our first store in Mumbai has seen a 25 per cent growth in revenue and we expect the same kind of growth from all our stores. Since a significant chunk of our customers in Mumbai were from Bengaluru, we decided to open our second store here.”
With a turnover of over €400 million in 2014, Roche Bobois is now present in 50 countries with a network of 250 exclusive stores.
The brand collaborates with leading international designers such as Sacha Lakic, Stephen Burks, Christophe Delcourt, Ora-Ito and Cedric Ragot.
“We also partner with some of the world’s finest high-fashion houses such as Missoni, Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier and Ungaro,” said Tara.
