Country’s largest private firm in the sector, Great Eastern Shipping today said it will add a very large gas carrier to its fleet, taking the number of vessels to 29.
“The Great Eastern Shipping Company has signed contract to buy a very large gas carrier of about 49,300 dry weight tonnage (73,800 cbm),” the company said in a statement.
The 1994 built vessel is expected to join the company’s fleet in 2015, it said.
The company’s current fleet stands at 28 vessels comprising 20 tankers and eight dry bulk carriers.
The shares of the company closed at Rs 213.85 apiece, down 0.77 per cent from the previous close on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
