Cbazaar, online retailer of ethnic Indian wear, has tied up with Bollywood film Lootera as its official online fashion partner.
As part of this association, Cbazaar has launched a Lootera collection of saris, blouses and accessories (priced Rs 800-Rs 4,500) similar to the ones worn by actor Sonakshi Sinha, the female protagonist in the movie.
Says Rajesh Nahar, Founder and CEO, Cbazaar, “We want to cash in on the growing fan following for Bollywood-inspired fashion among women.” Earlier, Cbazaar had associated with Saheb Biwi aur Gangster and Rani Mukherjee starrer Aiyya .
Recently, it launched a kurti and skirt collection from the movie Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola . It has also unveiled fashion lines from Hindi serials Madhubala , Punar Vivaah and Uttaran .
“These account for 8 to 9 per cent of our revenues,” says Nahar.
The retailer wants to take this further by designing and sponsoring the actual movie merchandise worn by film stars in Hindi and regional language movies. Launched in 2005, Cbazaar has over two lakh customers from 130 countries. India, US, UK, Canada and Australia are its key markets.
