Amid the Ministry of Heavy Industries directing Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) to investigate Ola Electric’s reported sales mismatch, the Bengaluru-based EV maker Ola Electric has denied any discrepancy in its sales and registration figures for February, attributing the mismatch to temporary registration backlogs.
BusinessLine had earlier reported that these backlogs stem from the company’s negotiations to revise contract terms.
Recently, Ola Electric renegotiated its contracts with Rosmerta Digital to reduce costs and improve registration efficiency, leading to temporary backlogs.
“This backlog is being rapidly cleared, with daily registrations now exceeding 50 per cent of our three-month daily sales average. Nearly 40 per cent of the February backlog has already been cleared, and we expect full resolution by the end of March 2025,” the company stated in an exchange filing.
Earlier, BusinessLine reported that Ola is facing an insolvency petition from Rosmerta Digital and Rosmerta Safety Systems, alleging non-payment of dues amounting to ₹22.5 crore. The petition is yet to be admitted by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
