Tile, bath and kitchen fittings manufacturer H&R Johnson (India) will focus on the super premium segment to scale up its bath division.

The company, which already manufactures luxury range of bath fittings, plans to get into the wellness segment by July-end to boost its sales.

“We plan to get into the wellness segment by introducing products like jet massagers, multifunction shower panels and shower enclosures among others. Most of these products will be sourced from China and European markets,” said Mr Ajit Singh, Vice-President, Johnson Bathrooms.

The bath division, which currently accounts for six per cent of Johnson’s turnover, has been growing at 40 per cent annually.

“Supported by innovative and new product launches, we hope to clock over 40 per cent growth this year,” Mr Singh said at a press meet to announce the launch of its germ-free sanitary ware here on Tuesday.

Capacity addition

Johnson — a division of Prism Cement Ltd — has also invested Rs 400 crore in capacity expansion in its tile and bath divisions this year, he said. The company – which already has a bathroom fittings and accessories manufacturing unit at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh – has added another unit at Samba in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Both these units together will have production capacity of 1.5 million pieces a year. We have invested Rs 40 crore in both these units. The Jammu unit will focus on manufacturing high-value bathroom fittings and accessories,” he said.
