Fast-moving electrical goods company Havells plans to grow its lighting business by 29 per cent to reach a turnover of ₹1,400 crore. Having invested in a plant with a capital outlay of ₹100 crore for making LED lights and fixtures, it wants to compete with market leader Philips in the ₹9,000-crore LED segment and is eyeing a leadership position. Anil Bhasin, Executive Vice-President, Havells, said, “Channel extensions, new product launches and general growth in the lighting category will help us reach a turnover of ₹1,400 crore next year.’’
