Cement roofing and green building products maker HIL Ltd clocked a 174 per cent increase in its net profit for the quarter ended June 30 at Rs 31.32 crore, as compared to the corresponding period of last fiscal.
During the quarter, its total revenue was Rs 360.57 crore, up by 33 per cent from the year-ago period.
Abhaya Shankar, Managing Director, said growth was the result of focussed and innovative marketing activities and creating a new product segment.
“In May, Charminar, our flagship brand of fibre cement roofing solutions, created a new global benchmark in the industry by selling one lakh tonnes of fibre cement sheet,” he said.
The company is part of the $1.6-billion CK Birla Group.
