Honda Cars India Ltd posted a 29.49 per cent increase in domestic sales at 5,493 units in December 2013.
The company had sold 4,242 units in the same month of the previous year, HCIL said today in a statement.
During December, the company sold 1,026 units of small car Brio, 4,458 units of sedan Amaze and nine units of the premium sedan Accord. In addition, the company exported a total of six units during the month.
In April—December, Honda Cars posted a 66.39 per cent increase in sales with 85,656 units compared with 51,478 units during the same period of 2012.
“Year 2013 has been very good year for HCIL business as we crossed 1 lakh units domestic sales for the first time in a calendar year with a total sales volume of 1,07,661 units,” HCIL Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Jnaneswar Sen said.
“We are looking forward to the launch of the new City and expect to continue with the growth momentum in the New Year,” Sen added.
