Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India is targeting overall sales of 4 million two-wheelers in India by next year, thereby nearly doubling the overall sales volume of 2.1 million it recorded during last year.
The company, which has garnered a market share of about 14 per cent, is looking at increasing this as it commissions the third manufacturing plant in Karnataka.
This will take up the capacity to 4 million two-wheelers per annum.
Mr Makato Yoshii, Deputy Director, Sales, HMSI, said that the Indian two-wheeler market is one of the most exciting in the world and the company expects to continue to witness growth over the next 10 years and beyond.
