iFFALCON Technology Holdings Ltd, a subsidiary of Chinese electronics company TCL Multimedia, is evaluating making smart TVs in India. Speaking to BusinessLine on the sidelines of the launch of the iFFALCON Smart TV series here today, Praveen Valecha, Regional Director, APAC BU India, TCL Communication Technology Holdings Ltd, said high-level discussions to set up a manufacturing plant in India are underway. Based on consumer demand for the products in the coming months, the company will take a call, he added. Currently, iFFALCON smart TVs are manufactured in China.
TCL Multimedia partnered with Flipkart to launch the smart TV brand iFFALCON. This is the first step in the international expansion of the iFFALCON series in India, targeting the youth. iFFALCON is equipped with Android 7 and has partnered with content providers including YouTube, Netflix, and Eros Now. The first three models will be available for purchase from May 7. The products are priced at Rs 13,499, Rs 19,999 and Rs 45,999 for the 32 inch, 40 inch and 55 inch models respectively.
