Amber Connect, the Jamaica-based vehicle tracking and telematics solution provider is expanding its presence in Coimbatore with plans to open a 4,000-seat office that will build vehicle telematics software to be exported worldwide.
The company will make an investment of $1.6 million to establish the facility. The construction of the office is currently underway, with the company planning to open it by the end of 2025, Dushyant Savadia, Founder & CEO, Amber Group, told businessline.
The expansion will generate 400 additional employment opportunities in 2025. Amber Connect is also planning to hire more people so the talent count reaches 1,000 in two years.
The company plans to onboard 1,000 people over the next two years for various roles including technology development, sales, and customer support needed to expand operations across the country.
Currently, Amber Connect’s office in Coimbatore comprises 1,200 professionals across various roles including product development, software engineering, operational support, sales, logistics, demand generation, data science, and AI expertise.
The team in India has been instrumental in building Amber Connect’s innovative solutions popular in key markets around the globe, and is the foundation for its expansion in India, he said.
On India as a market, Savadia said Amber Connect would partner with leading automotive OEMs and distributors to enable advanced telematics and fleet management solutions into vehicle offerings.
Amber Connect has set a revenue target of Rs 100 crore in India and Rs 500 crore globally over the next 2 years. Currently, the company has a global revenue of $15 million. The company aims to install its telematics solution on over 200,000 vehicles over the next two years.
Although January 2025 is the official launch in India through the Bharat mobility Expo, Amber Connect already has installed its fleet management system for a premier school chain in South India, SSVM Schools Group and another taking it to nearly 500 vehicles between Coimbatore and Bangalore, he said.
Amber Connect is a vehicle tracking and fleet management solution offering solutions from corporate fleets to individual drivers. Safety and efficiency are what we’re about — such as live location tracking, theft detection, and driver behavior monitoring, he added.
