Jubilant FoodWorks, which runs the Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin’ Donuts chains in the country, today opened its first commissary in North India at Mohali to cater to the future growth opportunities across the region.
Apart from Chandigarh, the commissary will cater to all Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin’ Donuts outlets in five states — Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, Ajay Kaul, CEO, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd said here.
He said that North India is a critical market for the company “and the consumers here have shown a great affinity to our brand”.
“To cater to the rising consumer demand and to increase our footprint in the region, we launched our first commissary in the region today,” he said.
The state-of-art commissary is equipped with the latest technology and automated machinery, temperature controlled refrigeration and freezer units to ensure highest standards of food safety and quality, he said, adding the commissary will cater to 45 Domino’s stores and one Dunkin’ Donuts store to start with.
Kaul said that Punjab has emerged as a good market and the company plans to open 12 more stores in the region, including 2-3 in J&K at an estimated investment of Rs 12 crore.
He said the growth in Punjab and tri-cities of Mohali, Panchkula and Chandigarh was far better than major metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.
“We are present in 118 cities at present,” he said, adding that new outlets will come up soon in Nagpur, Hyderabad and Guwahati.
The company will also launch Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants outlets in Amritsar, Ludhiana and Jalandhar.
