After establishing its new brand `Live’ for men in the premium leisure wear segment, the French luxury major Lacoste now plans to take the offering to women.
“So far Live has been restricted to men. From next season (February/March) we will launch Lacoste Live for women. Footwear and bags will also come in the Lacoste Live range,” Lacoste India Director and Chief Executive Mr Rajesh Jain said.
Lacoste Live is a smaller boutique format targeted at the fashion-oriented youth. It opened its first showroom in Delhi in July.
The company is working on adding two to three more stores in Delhi and Mumbai and is also planning to expand the number of stores to 64 in the next three years, he said, but parried a question on the investment.
“As far as expansion is concerned, we have 32 points of sale now and we plan to double this number in the next three years....Delhi and Mumbai are our focus areas,” Mr Jain said.
On whether the new stores would target B-class metros, he said, “We are looking at Ahmedabad, Pune, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Indore and Kochi, where we are already present and would like to expand. But I don’t see that happening in the next two years.”
The company expects to grow at 45-50 per cent year on year but did not disclose the revenue target.
