The Railways Strategic Business unit of infrastructure major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Construction has bagged a ₹3,191-crore contract from Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd. The business, which is a part of L&T Construction’s Transportation Infrastructure vertical, has won a contract for the Electrical & Mechanical Systems Package of Line 6 of Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project in Bangladesh in joint venture with Japan’s Marubeni Corporation. According to Rajeev Jyoti, CEO, Railways Strategic Business Group, the new contract comes on the back of the contract for Mauritius LRT system won by the business last year.
