Maruti Suzuki has India on Tuesday launched a limited edition of its highest selling premium compact car, Swift, called Swift RS.
The car, with an enhancement package of Rs 24,500 more than existing models, will be available in petrol and diesel VXi (Petrol) and VDi (Diesel) variants at Maruti Suzuki dealers from this week. The current models of petrol (1.2L) and diesel (1.3L) are available between Rs 4.49 lakh and Rs 6.88 lakh. The Swift RS will have a distinct sporty character and looks, the company said in a statement, adding that it will be available only in limited numbers and for a short period.
“The Swift RS is in continuation of Maruti Suzuki’s celebrations planned around the Swift model, as it moves towards the ‘1 million’ cumulative sales mark,” said the company’s VP - Marketing, Manohar Bhat. Swift had sold over 9.6 lakh units since its launch in May 2005, he said, adding that the company was confident that limited edition of Swift RS would be ideal for customers who looked to enhance the sporty character of their car.
To enhance the sporty quotient, the Swift RS has specifically designed black and blue motorsport-inspired graphics.
