Maruti Suzuki India will showcase at the Auto Expo its upcoming compact SUV Vitara Brezza and concepts of hatchback Ignis and Baleno RS, along with a new—generation vehicle platform.
The Vitara Brezza will be the first model that has been developed by a team led by an Indian engineer. MSI Chief Engineer CV Raman is the project lead. The company has stated that it will launch the model in the market a few weeks after the Auto Expo, to be held next month.
Based on its theme, ‘Transformotion — Transformation through Motion’, MSI’s displays will include “smart compact” urban concept vehicle Concept Ignis.
The company said concept Baleno RS is a sporty performance version of its latest premium hatchback Baleno powered by a 1 litre boosterjet engine.
“Besides new models and concepts, MSIL will showcase a new—generation vehicle platform and a new engine. These will take forward the company’s technology story which has gathered pace in recent years,” MSI said in a statement.
The car market leader said for the company Auto Expo 2016 is about taking the lead in “Transforming the Indian Automotive Experience, from products design and technology to the way it connects with customers”.
