Meridian Communication Mumbai had added Hockey India League to its existing client roster, following a multi-agency pitch in Delhi a couple of months ago.
The inaugural edition of the six-team Hockey India League is to be played on a home and away basis.
It has been granted a window by the International Hockey Federation. There will be 33 matches, including three play-off games.
Samrat Bedi, Head of Office, Meridian Communication, said, “Giving hockey its rightful place in India, is something that we all talk about.
The League is a superb opportunity for us to be a part of the team that will re-position the game in a manner that appeals to newer and larger audiences.” Hockey India Secretary-General and Hockey India League Chairman Narinder Batra said, “Meridian and Ogilvy One’s passion came through during the pitch. The league is going to showcase the world’s best talent and boundless energy.”
Kunal Jeswani, President, OgilvyOne Worldwide, India said, “It is exciting to launch the Hockey India League and rekindle the country’s passion for the sport.”
The official logo of the Hockey India League was developed by Meridian Communication, Mumbai. The league is scheduled to begin from January 5 and ends on February 3, 2013.
