Northern Coalfields Ltd (NCL) has witnessed 17 per cent growth in coal production to 42.80 million tonnes during the first half of the current fiscal. Coal production during the same period in the last fiscal was 36.60 mt.
NCL’s coal offtake in the first half of the current fiscal also grew by 17 per cent at 44.62 mt, as compared to 38.16 mt in the corresponding period of the last fiscal, a press statement issued by the company said.
In September 2017 alone, the company’s coal production increased by 37 per cent to 7.16 mt, against 5.23 mt in the corresponding month of the last fiscal. Coal offtake during the month grew by 42 per cent to 7.90 mt against 5.57 mt in the same month last fiscal.
