Nestle India has decided to raise prices of some of its products, including its instant noodles brand Maggi, condensed milk product Milkmaid, as well as its dairy whitener brand EveryDay. With commodity prices going up, FMCG players have been hiking prices in the past. At the same time, some players have also cut prices of some of their mass products.
Analysts said companies had been increasing prices, cutting back on pack units and launching premium products to beat slowdown in the past. A 450-gm packet of Maggie Hungroo has now been priced Rs 58 from the earlier price of Rs 55. The 1,000-gm pack of EveryDay dairy whitener has been increased to Rs 395 from Rs 370. A 400-gm pack of Milkmaid will now cost Rs 92, up from Rs 89.
