N. P. Diwakar has assumed charge as Director (Technical) of Bharat Dynamics Ltd, a miniratna Category-1 public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence. A mechanical engineer from Osmania University, Diwakar’s experience spans over 28 years, in various areas of missile production.
Prior to this appointment, Diwakar served as Executive Director in the Bhanur unit of BDL, where he played a key role in establishing standards set for the production of Konkurs-M and Invar Anti-Tank Guided Missiles and Unified Launchers, ensuring safe operations in order to reach set targets. He established the Astra Missile Production facilities. Earlier, he worked as Head of the Akash and Prithvi Divisions of BDL.
According to a statement, prior to joining BDL, he served in ONGC for about six years.
