Its ‘Pushya Nakshtra,’ get discount on purchase of gold coins at various post offices in Tamil Nadu.
Pushya is one among the 27 stars — `nakshatras .’ Pushya Nakshatra is considered to be an auspicious day to begin new ventures, investments and purchases. This month it falls on the 19th.
Reliance Money Infrastructure Ltd has announced a special discount of 6.5 per cent for customers who purchase gold coins at post offices on the occasion of Pushya Nakshatra. This discount will be applicable only for one day, according to a government press release.
India Post is selling gold coins at identified post offices in tie up with Reliance Money Infrastructure Ltd since September 2008. Gold coins of 24 carat (99.99 per cent pure) are available in denominations of 0.5 gm, 1 gm, 5 gm, 8 gm, 10 gm, 20 gm and 50 gms at these post offices.
Gold coins are packed in a sealed cover with certification from Valcambi, Switzerland, which has low risk of duplication.
Considering the overwhelming response from the public for the gold coins sold at post offices, sale has now been extended to 283 post offices across Tamil Nadu, the release says.
