The Punj Lloyd Group has been awarded a civil contract for a thermal power project worth Rs 210 crore by NTPC Ltd.
Punj Lloyd will undertake balance offloaded work for the power plant in Bongaigaon district of lower Assam. The project is scheduled for commissioning by 2014.
The supply of free cement and structural steel for the project by NTPC would help insulate it from price escalation. With this contract, the order backlog for the Punj Lloyd group on a consolidated basis has gone up to Rs 25,409 crore.
