Mr R. Venkateswaran took over as Regional Executive Director (South) at NTPC Southern Region headquarters in Secunderabad. Prior to this, he served as the Regional Executive Director of Eastern Region-II of NTPC at Bhubaneshwar in Odisha.
A graduate in Electrical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, Mr Venkateswaran joined NTPC as an Engineering Executive Trainee in 1978.
In a career span of over 32 years in NTPC, he had worked in various capacities at several plants across the country such as Ramagundam Super Thermal Power Station in Andhra Pradesh, Kahalgaon Super Thermal Power Project in Bihar, Rourkela Captive Power Station in Odisha and Simhadri Super Thermal Power Station in Andhra Pradesh.
He was Executive Director of the 3,000-MW Talcher in Odisha prior to his posting at Bhubaneshwar. He has rich experience in project management, commissioning, operation and maintenance of super thermal power plants.
