Renault India Pvt Ltd, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Renault S.A.S, launched X-tronic continuously variable transmission variant of the Scala. The all new X-tronic transmission system offers higher fuel efficiency and performance as well as a lower cost of ownership, the company said in a statement. Scala, which was launched in September last year, gained an eight per cent market share in the premium sedan segment as of December 2012. It sold more than 3,000 units in the past four months.
