Rockwool India, a fully owned subsidiary of Rockwool International A/S, Denmark, is upbeat on business prospects for its energy saving solutions in power plants, oil and gas, steel and housing sectors.
The company showcased the potential of how its products help energy efficiency in power plants. During the Power Plant Summit organised by CII and NTPC, Rockwool outlined how the thermal insulation practices in the country are below par in comparison to some other developed countries.
While a large number of thermal power plants are coming up to meet the demands, the existing power plants are still running with less than 60 per cent efficiency in many cases. Therefore, there is enormous potential to improve efficiency through upgrading thermal insulation.
Samson Suresh, Head-Corporate Affairs, Rockwool India & Middle East Group, said Rockwool Group is working with various State Governments, regulatory bodies and Bureau of Energy Efficiency to improve the energy efficiency through thermal insulation.
The group has also launched many awareness campaigns among the small and medium enterprises for energy efficiency in association with GIZ, a German Energy Efficiency Agency Partner to India’s Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
The Denmark-based Rockwool Group is the leading supplier of insulation products and systems based on stone wool for application in the areas for thermal, fire and acoustic insulations in building and process industry. It has set up a manufacturing facility at Dahej, Gujarat, to address the Indian market.
