Coimbatore-based Shanthi Gears Ltd, which is into the design and manufacture of gears and gear boxes for industrial applications, has posted a marginal increase in sales and net profit in the third quarter of the current financial year compared to the same period last year.
The company, which is a part of the Chennai-based Murugappa group, has announced an interim dividend of Re 1 per share (face value Re 1).
According to the standalone results, the total income from operations was Rs 41.61 crore in Q3 of 2013-14 compared with Rs 40.06 crore in the same quarter previous year. Net profit edged up to Rs 4.62 crore (Rs 4.24 crore). The EPS was marginally higher at Re 0.57 (Re 0.52).
