Tractor maker Sonalika Group has inked a pact with Minsk Tractor Works to re-launch their Belarus range of tractors in India.
As part of the recent Indian Presidential delegation to Belarus, Sonalika concluded and signed a mutual cooperation agreement with Minsk Tractor Works (MTW), Sonalika Group said in a statement.
Sonalika will introduce Belarus tractor range in India and sell its products outside India through the network of Minsk Tractor Works, it added.
Belarus tractors will be manufactured in Sonalika plant in Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
Commenting on the development, International Tractors Ltd (a Sonalika Group firm), CEO-International Projects, Rajiv Wahi said that as a leading Indian tractor manufacturer, Sonalika is looking at offering optimum agricultural solutions to global farmers.
“In this endeavour, the company is joining hands with MTW to synergise the resources, thereby offering wider product options to the combined network of the two companies,” he added.
Belarus tractor used to be a household name in India, about 15 years back, and one can still find them running successfully in many villages, Wahi said.
