Gujarat-based Steelcast has received the quality assurance certification from the Association of American Railroads.
Steelcast said the certification will help the company tap the US demand for rail castings as the US freight transport segment is one of the largest in the world.
In 2010, the company formed a 50:50 joint venture with the US-based Michigan Steel. It also upgraded its manufacturing facilities at Bhavnagar in Gujarat with the help of the joint venture partner.
