Tata Steel has announced that its sales were up five per cent in the second quarter of this fiscal at 1,730,000 tonnes (1,648,000 tonnes). Its saleable steel output of nine per cent jumped to 1,869,000 tonnes (1,710,000 tonnes).
It achieved the best-ever hot metal production of 2.07 million tonnes in a quarter and best-ever crude steel production of 1.93 million tonnes in a quarter.
Flat steel production sale at 1.008 million tonnes in a quarter was also the highest ever, the company said on Tuesday.
