In a blow to television channels, the Telecom Dispute Settlement and Appellate Tribunal ( TDSAT) has dismissed the case filed by the News Broadcasters Association and some other broadcasters on the ad cap issue.
TDSAT’s comes in the wake of the recent Supreme Court judgement which said that it cannot decide on petitions challenging the validity of the regulations of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
The members of the News Broadcasting Association are now contemplating moving to the High Court.
TRAI had earlier asked all broadcasters to restrict the number of advertisements and promotions to 12 minutes in an hour by October.
