Toyota Kirloskar Motor has unveiled the new Corolla Altis. The new 11th generation model has seen focused changes to boost this C-segment sedan’s appeal with a younger design and more luxurious interiors.

The new model has being launched officially here and bookings start now, but the price announcement and deliveries are expected only in May.

The exterior design of the new Corollo reflects the same philosophy as that of the new Camry.

Taking into account the preference amongst Indian owners to be chauffeur-driven, Toyota engineers have lengthened the wheelbase of the new Corolla by 100 mm.

Other India-centric additions include a reading lamp at the rear, a first-in-the-segment – rear reclining seat.

For the driver, driving position has been enhanced by changing the steering angle from 24 degree to 22 degree.

The vertical adjustment of the seat has also been increased from 45 mm to 60 mm.

New features include LED head and tail lamps, and a CVT-i with 7 speed sequential shiftmatic and paddle shift in the petrol variant.

The diesel variant is available in the 1ND D-4D Engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Toyota is also due to unveil the Etios Cross, a new crossover style variant of the Etios. This new variant will be launched on Thursday.

Talking about the product strategy for the next two years, Naomi Ishii, who recently took over as Managing Director, said the company will focus on increasing localisation and ensure that the Etios brand is popularised further.
