Agro chemical firm United Phosphorus has clocked a 38 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 278.40 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2013 on account of strong sales.
The company had achieved a net profit of Rs 201.87 crore in the same quarter previous fiscal.
Net revenue increased to Rs 2,820.74 crore during the fourth quarter of 2012-13 fiscal from Rs 2,132.33 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
During 2012-13 financial year, the consolidated net profit rose 39.42 per cent to Rs 774.60 crore from Rs 555.55 crore in the previous year. Total income jumped to Rs 9,194.52 crore from Rs 7671.31 crore.
Shares of the company were trading 2.4 per cent higher at Rs 132.15 on the BSE.
