Retailer Wal-Mart India today launched its e-commerce platform for members of its wholesale stores in Hyderabad and Lucknow, providing them with an online shopping opportunity. As a virtual store, the e-commerce platform provides a similar assortment of products, as well as special items to its members.
Members can navigate the virtual store and place orders at its 24/7 interactive site. In addition to the delivery at their premises, convenient payment solutions will help them make faster business decisions, the company said.
Prior to the launch, workshops were organised by Wal-Mart India team in the two cities to generate awareness on this initiative.
Krish Iyer, president of Wal-Mart India, said : “The initiative is aimed at enhancing our members’ shopping experience by integrating physical and digital store presence.”
Wal-Mart India’s cash & carry business is a B2B format and hence only registered members of its wholesale stores in these respective cities will be eligible to transact online.
