A Pawan Hans helicopter crashed on landing in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday afternoon killing 12 of the 18 people travelling in it. Sources said the MI-172 helicopter was on a routine flight between Guwahati and Tawang.
The helicopter, manufactured in 1996, might have crashed due to windy conditions while landing, sources indicated. “The helicopter was operated by experienced pilots and was fully serviceable.”
