Domestic crude oil production for June 2014 grew at a snail's pace of 0.1 per cent to 3.125 million tonnes as against 3.123 million tonnes in the same month last year.
While crude oil production grew slowly, natural gas production fell as compared to last year. The country produced 2.895 billion cubic meters of natural gas as against 2.945 billion cubic meters in the same month last year. This was a fall of 1.7 per cent as compared to the same month last year.
India’s refinery throughput also grew at a slow pace of 1.2 per cent in the month of June 2014. During the month, the refinery throughput was 18.353 million tonnes as compared to 18.135 million tonnes in the same month last year.
