A 20-member Parliamentary committee on Energy visited the Nano Solar Division of the Amrita Centre for Nanotechnology (ACNT) and expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project which aims to develop an integrated panel composed of Photovoltaic cells and super capacitor cells for energy storage with adequate generation and storage efficiency. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy had sanctioned a composite project in September last year to develop integrated Nanomaterial based Photovoltaic—Storage Devices and Development of an integrated panel consisting of Photovoltaic cells and Nano structure Super capacitor cells to the Nano sciences department for a period of 3 years at a total project cost of Rs 8.5 crore. Expressing total satisfaction with the progress of the project, Committee Chairman, Mr P.C. Chacko, Lok Sabha MP, told reporters at Amrita, “We will be recommending to the government to provide more help and support to the centre” for the success of the programme.
