TalentSprint, a skill development services company, has entered into an agreement with Andhra Pradesh Society for Knowledge Networks (APSFKNW) that runs Jawahar Knowledge Centres to offer skill development programmes to graduates from rural and semi-urban areas in the State.

To begin with, the human resources training firm would train 1,000 graduates identified by JKCs in the next 12 months. The two sides have signed an agreement in this regard on Friday.

“We have tied up with the Central Bank of India to provide financial support up to 90 per cent of the programme fee. What all the JKC-nominated graduates need to do is to pay a minimum fee. They could payback their loans after they secured jobs,” said Dr Santanu Paul, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of TalentSprint.

Addressing a press conference here after inauguration of TalentSprint facility at IIIT (International Institute of Information Technology) here, he said this programme would go a long way in meeting shortages for manpower in information technology, IT-enabled services and BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance).

Mr J.A. Chowdary, Executive Chairman of TalentSprint, said those who trained in TalentSprint received entry level salaries in the range of Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 3.2 lakh. “We have so far trained 2,000. Of them, about 85 per cent found placements,” he said.

Mr E.S.L. Narasimhan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh, who inaugurated the facility, said the talent gap was large. “We need to bridge the gap by making people employable,” he said.
