Aadhaar use has resulted in savings of ₹90,000 crore, according to J Satyanarayana, Chairperson, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). The quantum of savings was arrived after analysing the departments of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Food and Public Distribution; Rural Development and others, he said. He was speaking in at an international conference on digital identity organised by Indian School of Business (ISB) here on Wednesday. Around three crore people are using Aadhaar every day primarily for ration, pension, rural employment, and scholarships, among others.
