Cement makers ACC and Ambuja Cement today reported a modest growth in production at 1.97 million tonnes (m.t.) and 1.78 m.t. respectively, in June.
During the corresponding month last year, production at ACC and Ambuja Cement had stood at 1.96 m.t. and 1.65 m.t. respectively.
In June, despatches of ACC grew to 1.96 mt compared to 1.91 m.t., while Ambuja’s stood at 1.79 m.t. over 1.66 m.t. last year.
During the January-June period this year, ACC’s production stood at 12.86 m.t., as against 12.18 m.t. in the year- ago period.
The company’s despatches grew to 12.79 m.t. during the first six months of this year compared to 12.18 m.t. in the same period last year.
In the case of Ambuja, production for the first six months grew to 11.67 m.t. against 10.79 m.t. in the same period last year, while despatches for the period stood at 11.67 m.t. from 10.77 m.t. in the corresponding period last year.
