Monsanto India Ltd, a subsidiary of US biotech firm Monsanto, will see changes at the top from September 1 with the current Managing Director Gyanendra Shukla taking over as regional lead of Monsanto’s Africa Region.
It is a new region created by Monsanto in view of the importance the US firm attaches to Africa, which is seen having enormous potential in agriculture.
Shilpa Divekar Nirula, currently Director, Corporate Affairs, will take over from Shukla as Managing Director of Monsanto India Ltd. She will also look after Monsanto’s operations in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal as its Chief Executive Officer. Nirula, a professional with over 18 years experience in food and agriculture sectors, has been with Monsanto for the last seven years.
